A young boy was attacked by a neighbor’s pit bull while playing in his yard in Fort Worth in October, according to NBC DFW. The 10-year-old, Joel Guerrero, was hospitalized for eight days at Cook Children’s Medical Center following the attack, during which the dog escaped through a fence and bit Guerrero on the knee, arm, and back. His injuries will also require and additional surgeries and he will need rehabilitation for his knee. The dog was quarantined after the attack, but the neighbor has not been cited and says nothing like this has ever happened with the dog. Joel’s mother, however, remains concerned that another attack is possible. Their family has set up a GoFundMe account to help with the medical bills.
