A Missouri family has won a $72 million settlement from Johnson & Johnson after a mother died from ovarian cancer thought to be caused by the company’s products, according to ABC News. Martin Salter filed the suit on behalf of deceased mother, Jackie Fox, who passed away last year from ovarian cancer. Fox was a user of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Powder and Shower to Shower powder, which contain talcum powder. This was one of over 1,200 suits stemming from the company’s distribution of products containing talcum powder. The St. Louis jury awarded $10 million for compensatory damages and $62 million for punitive damages.
